Excerpt The author presents some of the Geto-Dacian coins preserved in the collection of the Prahova County History and Archaeological Museum. The most important part of the collection consists in a hoard of 16 coins of the Adâncata-Mănăstirea type, discovered at Olteniţa, Călăraşi county in 1910 and acquired in 1959 by the museum.
All the coins of the Olteniţa hoard belong the first series of the Adâncata-Mănăstirea type, characteristic for the South-Eastern part of Wallachia, to the area of the Argeş river valley. The coins were struck in quite good quality silver (950‰). The Olteniţa hoard contains some new varieties of the coins of this type.
