The authors present a critical analysis of a silver coin published by the Hungarian numismatist L. Rethy as a piece issued by George Koriatovič. The authors have gathered information about all known similar coins, a fact which helped them to conclude that the coins that are the subject of this paper were issued by Constantine Koriatovic for Podolia, at the end of fourteenth century. Also, they identify some similarities between the coins of Constantine Koriatovic and the first Moldavian coins struck in the name of Peter I. |
