Excerpt	Most of the researches of Octavian Iliescu and Ernest Oberländer-Târnoveanu concerning the Genoese coinage from the Lower Danube and the medieval Romanian Principalities still prevail. Our research at the State Archive from Genoa as well as our analysis tend to confirm some of their hypotheses, like the context in which the coinage of Isaccea was produced, the origin of the bronze coinage of XIVth century and of the „light” venetian ducats inscribed with the names or titles of the Genoese Doges.
