Excerpt | Taking into consideration the 45th commemoration of the death of Ştefan Capşa, a passionate numismatic collector, the author makes a retrospect of his life and activity, bringing to light less known information. An honourable descendent of the Capşa family, a name that became a real symbol for the trade of Bucharest. Ştefan Capşa was the only one of his generation that chose the old pastry cook occupation, earring on the tradition of the Capşa House. A large space is reserved to the presentation of the Capşa's collection of medals. He was member of the Romanian Numismatic Society and in 1935 donated his collection in the Coin Room of the Romanian Academy. Since 1984. Capşa's collection has been transferred to the National History Museum of Romania in Bucharest. |
